My Rating : 3 stars
About the book :
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed.
If you had the chance to change history, would you?
Would the consequences be worth it?
My Review :
11.22.63 is a historical fiction novel with Time Travel written by the famous author Stephen King.
You may remember the date as the day John F Kennedy was killed by a man named Lee Oswald.
If you had a chance to go back into the past and save him, would you?
Our protagonist Jake is a normal English teacher who likes helping out his students. He’s kind and emotional instead of strict and practical like the other teachers.
So, when the local restaurant owner Al shows Jake a way into the past and gives him a huge responsibility, what does Jake do?
He accepts. Let’s be honest here, who wouldn’t?
The Book was long and the writing, kind of boring so you can’t read it in one sitting. The first few pages are interesting and fast-paced, so enjoy it while you can because after that it gets kinda slow.
As Jake/ George tries to fit into the past (which he fails at. He uses slangs from 2011 😂😂), it’s just so normal and yet boring. Also the love interest and insta romance think kind of killed it for me. I mean you have an important job to do, save a life and change the future but instead you’re dancing around with a girl.
Things get interesting again after a while and then there’s the ending.
During the book, I was thinking that Jake might decide to stay there but he couldn’t since he needed to see what would happen back in 2011. And he couldn’t come back. Ugh the dilemma. And yet it was all sorted out in the end.
Another irritating thing about the book would be mentioning The Butterfly effect and “The past doesn’t want to be changed” so many times!
We get it, okay? 1-2 times was enough.
Also I wanted to know more about The Yellow/Orange/Green card man.
I’m going to see the show based on this book real soon.
Love, Alex 🙂
