Let down your hair by Bambi Quim

Let down your hair  by Bambi Quim is a Rapunzel fairy-tale retelling. It’s  a self-published short story and since I love fairy-tale retellings, I decided to read this. It didn’t take long as it was only 10 pages but boy was it fun.

Summary:

This short story is narrated by Maeghan, the faerie who has been wronged by quite a few people during her life. How did the “wicked witch” end up with and successfully raise a baby girl, anyway? Maybe she wasn’t so evil after all… Providing back story and sensationalism, “Let Down Your Hair” is a tale of love, found and lost, and personal strength, told by an ostracized woman who may have to fear for her life.

My review:

When we read fairy-tales,  we see it from one point of view. But there are two faces of a coin. And since I do love Villians and Maleficent movie was more than awesome (I can’t possibly explain how much I loved it),

I was really excited to get in Maeghan’s head. The evil witch from Rapunzel who kept her locked inside a tower, what was she thinking, possibly something evil but I was shockingly surprised.

Maeghan’s past isn’t what you can call easy. She has been hurt but that’s no reason to take it out on someone else is it? She wasn’t. She did what was right but unfortunately we didn’t see it that way and neither did Rapunzel. This story was short yet touching. Some parts surprised me, some didn’t.

And Prince William is a jerk!

Please read this story.
